This is a painting of the Drongs in the north of Shetland, a wonderful crop of rocks jutting out of the sea.  They are spectacular at any time, but even more so when the sea is wild and crashing up against them.  The foreground shows the very reddish sand that is typical in the more volcanic north end of the islands - in the mid to south areas of Shetland, the beaches boast beautiful white sand or pebbles.  Acrylic on canvas, unframed but ready to hang.
