This is a delightful story written by my friend and neighbour, Joanne Anderson, with my humorous illustrations which I think capture the imagination of children and adults alike.  Many people who hav bought the book to read to their children and grandchildren have contacted us afterwards to say how delighted they are with the book and the illustrations and they enjoy reading through it without the children too!    Buttons was well known in Burra, Shetland, as many visitors would meet her and make friends on Minn beach and then often come to my door to ask if we know if she belongs to anyone and if she's OK on the beach.  We have always explained that she sets off for the beach every summer and only comes home in the winter to our neighbour's house where she is one of a family of cats who are all well fed and loved.
